World Vision Intl Children Choir Concert to Open in Seoul
The World Vision International Children’s Choir Concert will open July 17-20 at the Seoul Arts Center. The event, hosted by World Vision and gathering childrens choirs from worldwide, will be the third after performances in 2000 and 2004.
This years theme is 'hopes for a safe world for children.' 270 Korean children from the World Vision Seonmyeonghoi Choir and other choirs from seven countries including Australia, the US, Hungary, Hong Kong and Taiwan will come to Korea for a total of 600 participants.
Special guests include Koreas KTF teen choir and the Blue Sky choir from Mongolia.
At the July 17 opening ceremony, the children, wearing the ethnic costumes of their respective countries, will deliver a folk performance and a musical 'Story of the Woods' produced by film director Park Je-hyeon. Professor and song writer Jo In-seon wrote the music for the creative musical.
Over the next two days, each choir will hold performances separately before all 600 members gather once again to sing the events theme song Imagine a World Where Children are Safe (written by Woo Hyo-won) at the closing ceremony on July 20.
